Botero sculptures in Plaza Botero, Medellín

Centro

The Centro is downtown Medellín: Plaza Botero, the Museo de Antioquia, Parque Berrío and the markets. Go by day. It empties after dark, and it is less safe at night.

The Centro is the busy historic middle of the city, and it is a daytime place. Plaza Botero, the Museo de Antioquia and the markets are the reasons to come. After dark it goes quiet, and it is less safe. I would sightsee here and sleep in El Poblado or Laureles.
