Privacy policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

This policy covers medellinpointer.com, published by Medellín Pointer. I would rather tell you plainly what the site does than hide it in a paragraph nobody reads.

What the site collects

The pages themselves do not ask you to make an account. There is no public email inbox yet, so the site is not storing messages you send. Hosting logs can include a browser type, a rough location, and the page you requested. That is ordinary web hosting, not a profile of you.

Cookies and Google Analytics 4

This site uses Google Analytics 4 on every page, measurement ID G-7P5Y9PE9TT. It records which pages are viewed, how you arrived, an approximate location from the IP address, and the device and browser. When you click an Agoda link or another affiliate link, the page sends an affiliate_click event with the partner name and the kind of page you were on. A booking button that scrolls into view can send a cta_view event.

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies, including _ga and a cookie named for this measurement ID, so it can tell browsers apart and remember a visit. Google's default is to keep those cookies for up to two years. The tag allows analytics storage. It does not allow ad storage, ad user data, or ad personalisation. You can refuse or delete the cookies in your browser. That stops new analytics hits from that browser. It does not erase reports Google has already stored. Google's own policy covers what they do with the data.

The site also loads a Travelpayouts script (partner id 501064) so affiliate clicks can be counted. Travelpayouts and the booking sites you continue to may set their own cookies.

Affiliate partners

Hotel buttons go to Agoda with this site's partner id, cid 1979060. Other bookings, including activities, eSIMs and some hotels' Booking.com comparison, go through Travelpayouts (marker 705381). Agoda, Booking.com, Travelpayouts and the other programmes named on the affiliate disclosure can record that you came from this site. If you book, they may pay a commission. That does not change the price you pay. Read the disclosure for the full list of the kind of programmes involved.

Your rights

You can ask what personal data this site holds about you, ask for a correction, or ask for it to be deleted. You can also object to it being used. Because there is no public inbox yet, send that request through the contact page once an address is published there. If a browser cookie is the thing you want gone, you can clear cookies yourself. That removes the affiliate and analytics cookies sitting in your browser. It does not delete records a booking site already holds under its own policy.
