Envigado and Sabaneta are their own municipalities, stuck to the south of Medellín and easy to reach on Line A. You get a local feel and fewer of the sights people fly in for. I would stay here for a longer trip, not for a first three nights.
Overview
Envigado and Sabaneta feel like the southern end of the city, even though they are separate towns.
Highlights
- Local restaurants and parks.
- Sabaneta’s busy main square.
- Line A, so you are not stranded.
Getting around
Envigado and Sabaneta stations are both on Line A. That is the whole transport pitch, and it is a strong one.
Who it suits
Longer stays, and travellers who would rather pay local prices than sleep next to Parque Lleras.
Frequently asked questions
Are Envigado and Sabaneta part of Medellín?
They are neighbouring municipalities to the south, linked by the Metro. They feel connected. They are not the same city on paper.
How do you get there from El Poblado?
Line A south, to Envigado or Sabaneta station.
