Parque Arví is a forest park in the hills above the city. You reach it on Metrocable Line L from Santo Domingo. The park is open Wednesday to Monday and closed on Tuesdays, and the cable car takes the same day off. The official FAQ lists guided and self-guided trail fees of 30,000 COP for foreigners. Check that number before you go, because park prices move.
Getting there

Ride Metrocable Line K to Santo Domingo, then Line L to Arví.
Line L costs 26,700 COP for foreign visitors in 2026 and runs 9:00 to 18:00, not on Tuesdays. You can also go by road through Santa Elena.
What to do

- Walk the forest trails. Some have guides.
- Visit the market near the cable car station.
- Picnic, or eat in Santa Elena on the way.
If you like a trail run, this is the obvious place. It is cooler and wetter than the valley, so a layer is not optional just because the city felt warm at breakfast.
Fees and hours
The park’s official FAQ lists guided and self-guided trail fees of 30,000 COP for foreigners and 20,000 COP for nationals, with under-5s free. It gives opening hours of 9:30 to 16:30, Wednesday to Monday. Check before you go.
What to bring
A layer and a rain jacket. The hills do not care that you were comfortable in El Poblado.
