A street in Laureles

Laureles and Estadio

Laureles is the flat, leafy side of the river: circular streets, cafés on La 70 and La 33, and Estadio Metro station. I would stay here for a longer trip, or any morning I actually want to run.

Laureles is west of the river, flat, and lined with trees. The circular streets are easy to walk, La 70 and La 33 have the cafés and bars, and Estadio station is on Line B. There are fewer big hotels than in El Poblado. That is the trade.

Overview

Laureles is a residential area of tree-lined circular streets with a local, relaxed feel.

If you like a morning run that is not a hill repeat, this is the barrio. See El Poblado vs Laureles.

Highlights

  • Cafés and bars along La 70 and La 33.
  • Atanasio Girardot stadium.
  • Flat streets you can actually walk.

Getting around

Estadio Metro station on Line B. The grid of circles sounds confusing for a day and then it clicks.

Who it suits

Longer stays, and anyone who wants a local base rather than a hotel district.
